Role Overview
The Airport Agent – Cargo is responsible for executing loading and unloading activities for passenger baggage and cargo with accuracy, safety, and speed. Working airside across ramp and cargo areas, the agent plays a crucial role in the safe turnaround of aircraft, always following CPM or LIR procedures and meeting strict service-level timelines while maintaining exceptional Health & Safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Working under the direction of Team Leaders, Airport Agents – Cargo ensure the safe and efficient handling of aircraft operations. Duties include:
- Assisting in aircraft turnaround activities as instructed by the Team Leader
- Following all safety protocols and reporting unsafe practices immediately
- Performing Wingman and passenger escort tasks when required
- Collecting and disposing of Foreign Object Debris (FOD)
- Complying with Airport Notices, official instructions, and company policies
- Ensuring adherence to Aviation Security standards and grooming guidelines
- Handling company and airline equipment responsibly to prevent damage
- Completing daily reports and following IATA tie-down procedures
- Escorting staff with temporary passes
- Working flexibly across any operational area as required
Loader & Porterage Duties
Loader responsibilities include:
- Collecting and loading gate items
- Unloading and delivering items to aircraft-side or gate lounges
Porterage responsibilities include:
- Safely transporting passenger luggage
- Handling arriving and departing baggage securely
- Informing passengers about applicable charges and ensuring correct processing
- Promoting Hala services such as baggage wrapping and quick check-in
These tasks help maintain the high service standards that SAS is known for.
Qualifications & Skills
Applicants must have:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 1 year of related experience
- Ability to read and write in English
